Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account – Radiology Partners

Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA)

Pay for eligible dependent care expenses with tax-free dollars.

Save for daycare expenses

The Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA), administered by VitaFlex, lets you set aside tax-free money to pay for expenses like daycare for your child(ren) under the age of 13, disabled spouse or your elderly parents.

How the DCFSA works

  • Eligible expenses go beyond child care and include before and after school care programs, preschool, and summer day camps for children under age 13.
  • You can use this account for daycare for a spouse or other adult dependent who lives with you and is physically or mentally incapable of self-care.
  • You can set aside up to $5,000 annually, or up to $2,500 annually if you are married and filing single.
  • Plan carefully: DCFSA money must be used for expenses incurred during the same plan year; at yearend, unspent funds will be forfeited.

Examples of eligible expenses

  • Licensed nursery schools
  • Qualified childcare centers
  • Adult daycare facilities
  • After school programs
  • Summer camps for dependents under age 13
  • Preschool tuition
